|  | Marathon makes the list! Newsweek magazine this week published its first annual rankings of the S&P 500’s greenest big companies in America, and Marathon placed 100th on the list—the only oil company to crack the top 100. Other oil majors’ rankings included: ConocoPhillips (238), Chevron (371), and ExxonMobil (395). BP and Shell aren’t part of the S&P 500 and so were not ranked. The magazine noted Marathon stands out “by generally avoiding the controversies and enforcement actions plaguing other oil giants” and has “solid management systems and aggressive GHG emissions reduction programs in place.” More information at these links: Newsweek Comments on Marathon
