Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC) produces maleic anhydride at its Neal, W. Va. plant. Maleic anhydride is a feedstock used in the production of unsaturated polyester resins used in the production of fiberglass reinforced products. Maleic anhydride can also be used in formulations for oil additives, food additives, paper chemicals and epoxies.
